The pen is nice to hold but writes like any cheap ballpoint. It's better than writing on a notebook but not perfect. It looks chic and of good quality but I wish the writing surface was hard and smooth instead of being thin vinyl or whatever it is. The Slate is bigger than I expected: almost as wide as a 3-ring binder but over an inch taller. I like that this saved packaging, but if I was getting it for someone I might not want the sleeve to be dingy. Like another reviewer said, it was shipped with the label stuck directly on the sleeve of the product box.
